| Hello
my friend and fellow cyclist, |
| For
the last fifteen years Historical Trails Cycling
has been organizing and leading tours on historic
trails across America. A few things we have learned
over the years is that, history
is more fun when discovered from the
seat of a bicycle, and that nature is more beautiful
when coasting along and enjoying it with friends.

Clark,and
countless
pioneers of
the Oregon Trail. Here at HTC we strive to bring
the past into the present with bike tours that
reveal the history of our great nation. Our aim
is to make your bicycle travel meaningful, enjoyable
and affordable. We are so fortunate to live in
a country so large and diverse, yet rich in history
that is still so tangible. |
| I
started Historical Trails Cycling (HTC) in 1992,
to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Oregon
Trail, which was scheduled for celebration in
the summer of 1993. We had so much fun on the
93 tour, that The Oregon Trail Bicycle
Migration, was repeated again in 1994. In 1997
we relived history again, when
the Oregon Trail riders shared the trail with
the Mormon Trail cyclists, celebrating the 150th
anniversary of the Mormon Trail. HTC again traveled
the O.T. in 2001 and again in 2004 and 2008. |

After
many miles of travel and years of research, in
2002 HTC was the first to lead tours along the
Lewis and Clark Trail from St. Louis to Seaside,
Oregon. HTC continued to tour the L&C Trail
in 2003, and celebrated its 200th anniversary
in 2004, and the return journey in 2006. |
| In
2009 we will headed east from St.Louis, Missouri,
toward the Historic Triangle of Williamsburg,
Jamestown and Yorktown, Virginia. We traveled
through southern Illinois, Kentucky
and Virginia. Uncovering the history of Abe Lincoln,
Daniel Boone, Thomas Jefferson the Wilderness
Road, Civil War Battle Fields, the birthplace
of American Civilization and much, much more.

During
the past years, HTC has organized one and two
day tours in Nebraska to bring organ donor awareness
to the public’s attention. These short tours
helped spread the message that sharing your wishes
with your family is the most important step in
saving a life as an organ donor. |
Thank
you for taking the time to find out about us, hopefully
one day we will share the trail together.
Ride
Safe.
Sincerely,
Tom Armstrong, Tour Director |
